Dear Parents

As the end of term looms, school is a hive of activity with end of year events and activities.

Our ‘B’ Swimming Team took part in the ‘B’ Inter-Schools Gala last Friday and our ‘A’ Team competed in the EPSA Division 1 Gala last Saturday.  Our congratulations go to all our swimmers for their determined efforts.  Our Swimming Team ended the season on very high note on Wednesday, coming third to Chisipite and Hellenic at the Ruzawi Invitational Gala.

Our Afternoon Activities have now ended for the year and our last sporting event was the most colourful and entertaining Infants Gala held this morning.  The Gala ended with a wonderful display by our Synchronised Swimming Team who also thoroughly entertained all at the Inter-House Gala.  Our congratulations go to our synchronised swimmers and to their coach, Mrs Wanyanya.

Our Grade 7’s are busy rehearsing for their Grade 7 production of Olivier Twist.  They will be performing for the school on Tuesday, the Charity performance will be on Tuesday afternoon and then the evening performance for parents, family, friends and guests will be at 6:00pm in the hall next Wednesday evening.

We are all envious of the Grade 5’s who will be going on environmental and conservation camps to Imire Game Park next week, especially as they will be accommodated in the luxury lodges as their school camp accommodation is currently being renovated.

Christmas Appeal
Christmas is nearly upon us and as most of you are aware, it has become a tradition at Bishopslea School to collect toys, clothes etc for disadvantaged children.  E.C.D. to Grade 7 pupils are asked to bring clothes, toys and books, which your children no longer have a need for.  Out of respect for these children we would ask that the clothes, toys and books are clean and in good condition.  Books with missing pages would be such a disappointment to any child.  Wrapping the gifts and labelling them, stating whether for a boy or girl and the appropriate age, would be most appreciated.
