Newsletter – 8 November 2024

We have held another colourful day with all our pupils coming to school in civvies and bringing a donation towards the workers Christmas hampers.

We have a very busy week ahead, starting with the Inter-House Gala tomorrow for all pupils in Grade 3 – 7 who can swim a length.  More information follows.

Our ECD, Grade 1 and Grade 2 pupils are busy rehearsing for their productions of ‘Bundle of Joy’ (ECD) and Humpty Dumpty (Grade 1 and 2).  The school performance will be on Monday morning and the evening performance for parents, family and friends, will be at 6:30pm on Tuesday evening.

Team and House photos will be taken on Wednesday.  Pupils are reminded to bring their kit for the photos.

On Thursday evening we will be hosting a Combined Schools Marimba Concert, starting at 6:30pm.

Parents are reminded of our school rule that states that no Bishopslea pupils are allowed to be on social media chat groups unless the groups have at least one adult, who is a parent, on the group.  This is, of course, to ensure the safety and well being of our pupils. Parents are asked to look at their children’s devices and ensure that the rule is observed.  Unfortunately, when this rule is not followed, it is generally brought to our attention when online bullying occurs, inappropriate content is shared or inappropriate language is used.

Inter-House Gala

The Inter-House Gala for Grade 3 – 7 will start at 8:30am.

All pupils participating should meet their House Captains at 8:15am on the netball field for warm up.  The events list, with competitors, is posted on the notice board.

Pupils should bring their correct Bishopslea swimming kit, including blue costume, house colour cap, full tracksuit, clean white socks and takkies.  They should bring two towels and should be covered in sun block.  Drinking water may be brought but not cool drinks so as not to attract bees.  Please could parents ensure all items are clearly named.

Please note the following:

  1. Please would parents not go to their children’s tents to talk etc during the gala and please do not send food and drinks to the pupils during the gala.
  2. The PTA will be selling food and drinks for which we are most grateful.  Please note that no glass is allowed in the pool area.
