Newsletter – 15 November 2024

We have had a very full week.  Our Inter-House Gala last Saturday was a great success with a high standard of swimming exhibited.

Our Swimming Team are now preparing for the EPSA Division 1 Gala tomorrow(16 November), which will be held at the Les Brown pool.  We wish them every success.

On Tuesday(12 November) evening our ECD performed their production of ‘Bundle of Joy’ and Grade 1 and 2 performed their production of ‘Humpty Dumpty’.  Congratulations go to all for the thoroughly entertaining and incredibly mature performances.

We hosted a most entertaining and successful Combined Schools Marimba Concert on Thursday evening.  Congratulations go to all our marimba players for representing Bishopslea so well.

Our tennis teams played their last matches this week. Both were hard matches as our 1st Team played Hartmann House Boys 1st Team and our U13 2nd Team played Gateway 1st Team. Great tennis was played by all.

Our Grade 5’s go on camp to Imire Game Park next week.  Grade 5W goes on Monday returning Wednesday and Grade 5M and 5C go on Wednesday returning on Friday.  We wish them enjoyable camps.

Our ECD, Grade 1 and Grade 2 pupils are all busy preparing for the Infants Gala next Friday.

For those who follow the dates our annual visitors arrive, the Abdim’s storks appeared at school on Thursday 31st October and have visited us intermittently since then.  We have put their reduced numbers here at Bishopslea down to our keeping the grass on our sports fields shorter, which has reduced their food supply, namely crickets, locusts and caterpillars.
